    Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried running those Nycors on something like a corner box or a mudshot? Just curious if it would work at all, seeing as the Nycors have that hole in them.

    How are you able to get so much mud in the ceiling and not have it dry out? I find I leave it on for 2 minutes and it hardens to the point it textures

    If you’re a finisher you should know the difference between a corner and angle….that’s a n Angle box

    • @drywallnation
      @drywallnation 20 днів тому

      Lol! Semantics. Do you think I just make up these terms on a whim? You're right, Angle Box is a common term used by finishers. However, almost every tool manufacturer in the industry calls it a "corner box" or "corner applicator". Inside corner, inside angle. Same thing.

    • @loreec90
      @loreec90 19 днів тому

      @@drywallnation when Ames put automatic tools on the market in the 50s it was and still is an Angle box. All your so called manufacturers are a direct copy of the original patent . And couldn’t figure out how to improve on the original design and aren’t smart enough to know the difference between an angle and a corner

    • @drywallnation
      @drywallnation 19 днів тому

      Well, I'm not trying to argue with you. But you're wrong again. Literally on the Ames website, it's called a "universal corner applicator." Even "angleheads" are called "corner finishers."

    Why are there videos on using auto tools? If you’re a happy home owner do it by hand. And for the finishers out there this is 1st bracket info

    I’m just getting hung up that he keeps saying we didn’t have to make cuts when he ripped to full sheets in half😆 also agree that he should have staggered the tops and bottoms or at least used an 8’ butt board on the joint

    i get everything about it, i have one question though... since you've depressed the butt joint along its entire length, doesn't that mean that the CORNERS of the sheetrock are now double depressed due to this structural depression plus the additional depression that already exists on the corners from the long edge of compressed sheet rock... does it not screw up the mudding of the long edges where every eight feet now there is a deeper hole to mud... does the paper tape lay flat there or the deeper dip at every intersection messes with it?

    can I run my bazooka with 90-minute hot mud

    • @drywallnation
      @drywallnation Місяць тому

      Absolutely not. I mean, technically you can, but I strongly advise you don't. You'll have to mix your setting compound very, very thin for it to operate properly. And as it starts to setup, your taper will get harder and harder to run. Not to mention, cleaning it will be damn near impossible. Setting compound will also dry up your seals and parts. Strongly suggests you don't do this. Not worth the risk. Better off using a banjo or compound tube for setting compound.
